Spectator experience

Follow every athlete on a live map.

RaceTime estimates where each runner is between timing points from their pace, moves the marker smoothly and corrects it at every recorded split - on an angled 3D map that follows road courses, triathlon legs and lap circuits.

The live map

A moving dot that actually makes sense.

The course is drawn from your uploaded route; each athlete's marker advances along it, interpolated from their splits and expected pace. Checkpoints are pinned, crossed splits tick green, and the marker glides between reads instead of teleporting from one timing point to the next.

Favourites map on a phone: an angled 3D map with runner pins showing initials and bib numbers, and the Your group lane with each runner's estimated finish. Names are blurred.
Pace-derived
Between timing points the position is estimated from splits and pace, and corrected at every recorded split.
Smooth
The marker interpolates between reads and anchors to the furthest confirmed split, so it never jumps backwards.
Live
The marker keeps moving between live timing reads instead of jumping from checkpoint to checkpoint.

Triathlon & laps

One map, every course shape.

One map handles every course shape: the map is no longer point-to-point only. Multi-stage events draw every leg, and lap races circulate the whole loop - all from the same component.

Leg-aware multi-sport

Triathlon and other multi-stage events draw the full course - swim, bike, run - each leg in its own colour, with the marker following the athlete's active leg.

Lap circuits

Upload one lap, set the length and lap count, and the map draws the athlete circulating the whole multi-lap course - the map distance stays decoupled from scoring so the dot traverses the full loop.

Tracked vs informative

Some legs move a live dot (bike, run); others are drawn as an informative outline only (swim, transitions). It's operator-configurable per leg, not hardcoded by discipline.

Follow & pace

Made for the people on the sidelines.

Families and clubs rarely follow one athlete. The spectator tools are built around watching several at once - and around the storytelling that makes a lead group exciting.

Multi-favourite follow

Track several athletes on one map at once, each with their own marker and live within-leg distance - and every favourite's card ticks forward between reads, just like the leader.

Course-record pacer

A "ghost" dot chases the course record split-by-split and gender-aware - instant live-sports storytelling for the lead group, no commentary required.

One tap from results

Tracking lives right inside the public athlete profile and the favourites view, so spectators move between the results list and the map without leaving the page.

How it's set up

A route file, a couple of toggles, done.

Tracking is a per-competition tab. Operators drag in a course file and the map takes care of the rest - including an instant preview before anything goes live.

Live Tracking setup tab - enable map tracking, course-record pacer per gender, a loaded GPX route whose measured length matches the configured distance, and a 'runs on laps' option
The setup tab. Enable tracking, set the course-record pacer per gender, drop a GPX whose measured length is checked against the configured distance, and flip "runs on laps".
admin / competition / live tracking / edit points
Editing the route on a real map - dragging, adding and removing individual track points directly on the course
Edit on a map. Drag, add or remove individual track points right on the course - without touching the scoring distance.
